Unfortunately, the creature was still too fast, and none of the shots did major damage. The creature reached Hank and pounced. The first thing it did was tip off the arm holding the gun, sending it nearly halfway across the field, landing within feet of Chris. But all Chris could do was state stupidly as the creature tire Hank apart. After his arm, the creature sliced off his hand with claws Chris had not notice before. Hank screamed in agony, and still the creature tire at him. Next, it cut across his stomach, spilling his intestines on the dirt-covered ground. He screamed again, and this time Chris snapped out of his deer-in-headlights routine and looked around. He saw the gun and five for it. The creature, though, hadn't notice, as a matter of fact, it had completely forgotten Chris, it was now in a frenzy and couldn't be stopped. It lunged it's head down at Hank's throat, taking a massive bite out of it, enjoying the warm blood on it's mouth, the sweet taste of it too. The creature savored Hank's flesh for a moment, then went for a second bite. Faintly, the creature heard a strangely familiar sound, but is paid no mind, it had been so long since it had last tasted human flesh, and it planned to enjoy every but of this experience. Too bad for the creature, Chris had reached the gun. He lined up a shot, tried to think of a cool line to say, thought of nothing, then fired. There was a hollow thick! followed by a high-pitched whizzing sound as the bullet ripped thought the flesh on the creature's face and ricocheted off it's skull. Chris stared in disbelief as the creature staggered sideways, dropping want was left of Hank's body on the blood covered good of Chris's car, then regained it's balance and turn it's ruined face towards him. The blood coming from the creatures face was thick-looking, and was nearly black, though you could still tell there was some red to it. It's skull looked deformed from the bullet, a dent the size of a dollar-coin, and you could see a chunk of fur covered flea dangling from the side of it's face. Chris wasn't sure, but he thought he could see disbelief on what was left of it's face. Then, the creature's face twisted in anger and it started to charge him. It ran on all fours for a moment, then it slipped sideways and slammed onto the ground, hard. Chris stepped forward and looked down at the creature, almost feeling pity for it. "You wouldn't, shoot me, right? You know I would've treated you like family, protected you, loved you, right?" "Right" He replied, then fired the last two bullets in the gun (it was a seven shot). The first bullet ricocheted like the one before, but the second one entered with a sickening crack! He dropped the gun next to the body of the creature, whose face was now covered completely with that reddish-black, oozy blood. He turned around and saw Hank's body draped over the hood of his car, he also saw the bite taken out of it. "Chew on this" Chris said to himself. "That's what I should've said" He walked to his car and pushes the corpse off of it. He pulled into the dirt lot, turned around and drive off, already telling himself none of it had really happened. "All just a dream, Chris, just a dream" he chanted to himself as he left the town, but the blood on his short and hands said otherwise....... |
Comments:
Báden: If you read this far, congrats. I want to say that this is not the original story, but a much more shortened version, with an alternate ending. The full version was eight pages long four if written frontandback, so I figured what the hell, shorten it. There were a few other changes, too, but I dont wish to explain them in a comment. If you want the full version, message me, and if enough people do, Ill put to up. Thanks, and I hope you enjoyed reading Negotiations. |
