I setup a minecraft server for FurrTrax, but in doing so came to the realization that the server system itself, is getting a little lean on RAM capacity, If there were quite a few people in the minecraft server, it would start to impact the server adversely. If any of you have hosted minecraft yourselves, you know its a memory(RAM) HOG, and takes a lot of RAM to run a good smooth server.
I was already planning to do some upgrades but it looks like it would be best i do them sooner then later. This is not a rental server, so the cost per month does not change, i just simply need to buy the RAM at a electronics store, and then visit the server to install it.
The Current configuration is as follows:
System has 4 Slots and uses DDR3 1600(800 Effective) Currently Holds 10 GB with a MAX of 32 GB @ 4 * 8 GB Sticks
3 * 2 GB Kingston HyperX Sticks
1 * 4 GB Kingston HyperX Stick
The goal is to swap the 2 GB sticks with 4 GB Sticks or possibly 8s if cost allows, but right now even the 4s are out of my budget.
